Crostic Answers Explained
Crostic is an acrostic: you answer a set of written clues, and the letters from those answers feed a phrase hidden underneath. Solve enough clues and the phrase resolves. This archive holds all 700 levels, each with every clue, its answer, and the hidden phrase the level spells out.
Publishing the clues without the phrase would withhold the thing the puzzle is actually for, so both are here. That matters in both directions: a stuck clue is solved by reading the phrase, and a half-guessed phrase is confirmed by the clue answers that feed it.
Levels are filed in named categories and grouped into blocks of one hundred, and each level links to its neighbours, so you can work a run without returning to this page.

Easy clues are worth as much as hard ones
Every answer feeds letters into the phrase regardless of how hard it was, so take the free ones first.
Guess the phrase, then work backwards
The hidden phrase is often readable from a handful of letters, and knowing it turns the remaining clues into fill-in-the-blanks.
Check the letter count
Each clue states the length of its answer, which alone rules out most wrong candidates.
Commit to the short answers
Three and four letter answers are the most constrained, so they are the safest letters to place into the phrase first.
The category narrows the vocabulary
Levels are filed by category, and the clues within one lean on its subject, so a theme word met earlier often returns.
Come back to a stuck clue
A clue that looks impossible now is usually easy once the phrase has handed you two of its letters.

Every Crostic puzzle on this site is imported from a structured source record rather than transcribed from a screenshot or copied from another answers page. On import each record is validated before it is allowed through: a puzzle missing its core data is left out of the archive instead of being published incomplete. That is why the count reads 700 rather than a rounder marketing number.
The archive is maintained by the Solved Archive editorial team, who play these games and use these pages themselves. Because Crostic has a fixed catalogue that does not change once complete, this archive is finished rather than growing — all 700 levels are present.
