Name the whole scene first
The longest answer is often the picture itself — a beach, a kitchen, a market — rather than an object inside it. That one word usually unlocks the rest.
Work the edges
Foreground objects come easily. The answers that stall a level sit at the border of the frame or behind something else.
Match the length
Every answer here shows its letter count. With a slot open, comparing lengths is far faster than looking at the picture one more time.

Work the block in order

Be more specific than you think
If a slot is longer than the obvious word, the game usually wants the precise name — the breed, the type, the material — not the general category.
Say the picture out loud
Describing the scene in a sentence surfaces words that scanning does not. Most missed answers are things you can see perfectly well but have not named.
Check the background
Clouds, windows, signs and floor tiles are all answers in this game. If the foreground is exhausted, the remaining words are almost always behind it.
Use the letter count as a filter
The counts on every level page narrow a slot faster than any amount of staring. A four-letter gap rules out most of what you were considering.
Plurals matter
Two of something is often the plural rather than the singular, and that one letter is the difference between a word being accepted and rejected.
